Jose rated this product on 11/29/07 Here is a reply from one of the customer reps from pinemeadow about the BLOC. Hope this clears things up: "We have 2 types of drivers in the BLOC available. The website offer is a "pure beta titanium" club head and we design heads for the retail stores (at their request for good price points) look to do a "Ti Alloy" version. What this basically means is that the club head is a mixture of titanium 80% and aluminum 20%, which reduces the cost significantly. The club is a good performer and a great buy at $39.99. The performance difference is not much to start with but if you are play 50 times a season/year and you use the driver often, the head is expected to fatigue more than a Beta Ti within 3-5 seasons. Just something to keep in mind as this will eventually affect your distance and face response. "
Preston Hale responds with Thanks for the post Jose. Keep in mind the Bloc we sell on PinemeadowGolf.com is a titanium club head. The advantages of a titanium driver is that it is a strong, lightweight material allowing us to create an oversize club head giving you the most forgiving and big sweet spot. Also, the number of rounds was used as an example showing you would have to play A LOT of golf for many years. We tell you the straight truth about products and what they are made of so you will be educated to judge quality for yourself. Look at a product on our web site and you will see specifications for materials, size and weight.

Chris rated this product on 11/28/07 I have to agree with Anthony on this one. Don't get me wrong, the BLOC is a great club and gave me an extra 15-20 yards on my drives. However, I let my friend (~115 mph swing) try it and he inadvertently skied it. We noticed that the face had bent in near the top crown. From there, the BLOC died a slow death as it just kept denting in more and more as I hit it. Finally a crack developed on the side and that was that. My friend has a SUMO2 and had skied his club several times. Aside from some shameful marks, his SUMO was fine. One sky on my BLOC and it died. I do still rate it a 3 because it does perform as advertised; i just don't like the fact that it breaks so easily.

Anthony rated this product on 11/27/07 Hi Adam: I appreciate you addressing me directly. The reason I didn't go through and detail the exact failures of this golf club as a FT-i rip-off was because it would have taken way too long to complete. But here are a few of the major points. First of all, my swing is about 106mph. Not all that fast. But after an hour or so at the driving range with it, I immediately noticed denting on the face. I've played my FT-i for about 4 months and the face is 100% in tact. The BLOC quality in materials is an obvious reason. Shaft quality is questionable also. The stiff shaft on this club flexes almost as much as my regular flex on my older BB 454Ti. Look, I apologize if I offended anyone with my review of this club. As I stated in my previous review. This club is probably a good option for someone who has ABSOLUTELY ZERO BUDGET for good golf clubs or is a once in a while golfer looking for a gimmic conversation piece in their gof bag. Look, you can't compare a $100 pair of Nike Basketball shoes to a $29 pair of Payless ones and say that it's to pay for advertising, endorsement, etc. I'm sure there is something in there for that, but in this life, you truly get what you pay for. Honestly, there has to be a reason why no one on any of the tours play these clubs. And trust me, not every player on the tour is getting their gear free. My neighbor has had his PGA Pro Card for 3 years and we went out and bought clubs together earlier this year. See you on the coure and enjoy the greens, just leave your BLOC at the driving range...

Sam Arrington rated this product on 11/26/07 I am a 14 handicapper and bought a BLOC driver at FT. Gordon, GA. Unfortunately it came with a regular shaft while I require a stiff shaft. I bought my BLOC and beat a path to the golf course where I sliced every drive. Oh yeah, it ticked me off. So I called Pinemeadow and found out that all the shafts in AAFES stores are regular. A buddy of mine replaced the regular shaft with a stiff one, and I am now killing the ball; I am hitting the fairway with more regularity. Before the BLOC, I was using the 460X Callaway; I am hitting the BLOC 5 to 10 yards farther than with the 460X. I love the 460X, but I will use the BLOC. And it does not sound like an aluminum baseball bat as I have read. I highly recommend the BLOC.
