Steve rated this product on 05/29/08 I have had the excel hybrid for about a month. I have always been a good player with woods, putter, and approach wedge but my iron play was awful. I have had Pings and TaylorMade. No matter the lessons I could hit perfect draws with my woods and nothing with my irons which killed my ability to score. Now I am hitting the hybrids the distance you should hit irons and rather then coming in hot with a 5 or 7 wood I have a discipline to my approach. Little by little my scores are getting better. The biggest thing was getting over the idea of using hybrids. But as the captain said look at what the pro's are using. Yesterday was the first day I had really set out to use the hybrid in place of woods. I finished the front nine bogey, birdie, par, par. Including the 3 (birdie) and 5th top handicap holes. It was because I could stick the approach on the pin. I did better on the back. The clubs have not haf a great deal of use as we have had a longer winter and the season started late, so I cannot comment on the wear and tear issue. So far they seem to hold up. I am thinking about getting my wife the women's set. Funny enough I take some pride in 1. being smart enough to use the club that is right for me rather than feeling I had to use traditional irons & 2. the fact that I paid for a whole set what I would have paid for one club. Good advice from your on-line staff, good product, good value. Thanks. Of course if I go back to my bad habits and increase my handicap its all your fault, it couldn't be the disconnect between brain and swing. Good products thanks.
vincent reviewed this product on 05/29/08 I am a little skeptical about spending $700+ on pinemeadow (DR, 3 wd and hybrids all with upgraded shafts and grips, When I can get CL hibore hybrids, driver and 3 wood for $800+ at Dicks. I have read good reviews about PM. But everyone I talk to said I would be making a mistake to spend that on clones when you could go with named brand for a little more. I keep coming back to PM site and looking at the same clubs everytime but I just cant convince myself that it would be the right decision. ANY HELP OUT THERE OR AN OPINION?
Tony rated this product on 05/24/08 I ordered the 7,8 & 9 hybrid to give me a chance at the green on those mid second shots. WOW! The clubs did what I hoped they would do. A lofted 130 yard shot dead on is no problem. It took a little while to get used to but the effort certainly paid off. The club quality is high. I highly recommend these hybrids with grip upgrades, and Pinemeadow's service is spot on!
Alan rated this product on 03/31/08 A full set of Hybrids!? While some rave about them, and others wonder about them, Pinemeadow makes them simple. I just received my full set of hybrids (2-9) and after a few rounds I have found them incredible! Far easier to hit in the longer irons, and much better feel and control in the shorter irons. Off the tee, fairway, or rough... these clubs haven't let me down. I was curious about how hybrids would compare to the shorter irons, but the only irons you'll find in my bag now are the sand and pitching wedges. Highly recommend a grip upgrade though. I use the Lamkin Crossline grips that have a much better feel than the standard grips. Great clubs and a great bargain! Thanks Pinemeadow!
Eric rated this product on 03/20/08 I have been using the 2 - 5 Excel Strong hybrids with 6-9 Excel Strong irons. I've always favored the hybrids as the easier and more consistent clubs and was very excited to see they now offer the hybrids for the 6-9 clubs. I ordered them at first sight and am very eagerly anticipating their arrival. Thanks Pinemeadow for giving me the answer to the question I didn't know I had asked! All of the Pinemeadow clubs I've ordered have been top quality and the customer service has been above and beyond exceptional.
