Frequently Asked Questions

We receive thousands of technical questions from our adoring customers and customers-to-be and love answering them. We believe knowledge is power. Trust us, the more you know about golf clubs the more you will want to buy from us. However, to get your most important questions answered efficiently and effectively we have a few options for answering questions.

Thank you for your questions! Click one of the links below to navigate to that section.

General Questions

Do your clubs come completely assembled?
You BET! All of our clubs come fully assembled and ready to hit. Once we get it into your hands the rest is up to you. Amazingly, this is a common question. We show only the heads of the clubs in many photos of the site, but that is because we use a number of shafts (both graphite and steel) and we want to avoid confusion about what shaft comes with the club. Also, we can make a larger image that you can see faster by focusing on the most important aesthetic part of the club — the head. We are aware that a number of companies do not make their clubs and just ship you the components in a box. That would not be a good thing.
I am a beginner/High handicap. What kind of club would you recommend?
Generally speaking all of our clubs, with only a couple of exceptions, will be perfect for the "Beginner to Average" golfer. Every product we make features the game improvement technologies and design concepts which will make you a better golfer — cavity back irons, perimeter weighting, low center of gravity. The first key to deciding what club to buy is to answer this simple question: What name brand club do you like the looks of? Our advice is to go to your local golf course and look at the name brand clubs. When you like the looks of a specific model, that is the one you should be interested in. Remember: You have to feel comfortable looking at the club when you go to hit the ball. Liking the way the clubs looks is very important.
There is no exact standard for golf club length in the golf industry. To make everything clear, we are letting you know our standard club lengths for men and women using both graphite and steel shafts. The measurement is made with the club in "address position" — clubhead resting on the floor, grip end in your hands. The measurement is made from the floor up the back side of the club to the butt end of the grip.

This information is optional information for golf wonks and is NOT necessary for buying our products or getting fitted using our Customer Club Fitting Wizard. It is reference material for those interested in comparing our golf club lengths to others.

Questions About Ordering and Shipping

When will I get my clubs?
That's a complicated question. There are several parts to the answer.
  • Time to Build: We custom build your order just for you. Our goal is to do this in 2 business days. (Orders received Friday, Saturday, Sunday & holidays don't get started until the following business day.) In some rare cases it can take more than 5 business days. If that happens, we will notify you right away. Generally the more you customize your order with special requests the longer it will take to build.
  • Time to Ship: UPS Express shipping can take up to 3 business days. Ground shipping can take up to 7 business days to the East Coast.
  • Tracking: The day your order ships, UPS will email you with a tracking number and instructions to track your shipment.
Can you ship my clubs via the United States Postal Service (USPS)?
Well, yes and no. In some cases, where USPS is the only option of delivery, we will be more than happy to ship it via USPS. For example, we are required to ship APO and FPO packages via the USPS. See the next question for more information regarding APO and FPO shipments.

We know there are situations where shipping via the USPS would be less expensive. Unfortunately, the USPS has less sophisticated tracking capabilities and box dimension limitations that are restrictive for shipping long, narrow boxes like golf clubs.

Do you ship to APO or FPO addresses via the United States Postal Service (USPS)?
Absolutely! Here are a few things to take into consideration when we have to ship to an APO or FPO.
  • Tracking: USPS packages can only be tracked to the delivery the location at which the military takes over distribution. At that point we do not have tracking capability of your package. We have shipped thousands of clubs to APOs and FPOs and have had very little problems.
  • Time to Ship: Please note that sometimes order transit time to APO/FPOs can not be controlled due to certain circumstances. Military mail distribution tries to deliver a package on an average of 12 business days, but due to uncontrollable situations, it may take up to 6 weeks. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have anymore questions on how long it will take to get your order.
Can I track the progress of my shipment?
Yes. UPS will send you an email with your shipment's Tracking Number. You can enter either your tracking number or the Pinemeadow Golf order number in our Order Tracking Page.
How much will shipping cost me?
Shipping costs are determined by the distance from us to you, how much your order weighs and how fast you want it in your hands. We go to great lengths to find cost-effective and safe shipping methods for our products.
  • Continental United States: For shipments within the continental United States it is pretty simple — we use UPS and generally offer two methods — regular (UPS Ground) and fast (UPS Three Day). You can get an exact quote of your shipping costs for both Regular and Fast Shipping by putting the products you want into your shopping cart and proceeding to step 4 of our shopping process. If you have provided us with your zip code and all the products you want we then automatically compute your shipping costs and show you your options. At that point you are under no obligation to buy, so there is no risk to you. If you want your product faster than UPS Three Day, you must request this when you order (in the comments section of your order form) and we will get back to you with a quote. We will not process your order until you confirm you are happy with the shipping cost for custom shipping.
  • Hawaii & Alaska: For shipments to Hawaii and Alaska (yes, people play lots of golf in Alaska) — we use UPS Two Day. You can get an exact quote of your shipping costs by putting the products you want into your shopping cart and proceeding to step 4 of our shopping process. If you have provided us with your zip code and all the products you want we then automatically compute your shipping cost. At that point you are under no obligation to buy, so there is no risk to you.
  • Canada: For shipments to Canada — we use UPS World Express. This service provides Canadians several benefits over UPS Canada Ground. First, we have deeply discounted rates for World Express shipping so the cost is very similar regular ground shipping. Second, the only "extra" charges that will apply is the standard duty and GST charges that apply on all purchases made outside of Canada. Third, you get your golf clubs in your hands faster. You can get an exact quote of your shipping costs by putting the products you want into your shopping cart and proceeding to step 4 of our shopping process. If you have provided us with your Canadian Postal code and all the products you want we then automatically compute your shipping cost. At that point you are under no obligation to buy, so there is no risk to you.
  • International Shipping Strategies:
We know shipping from the United States to your country seems to be expensive, but if you take into consideration the value, service, and product you are getting, we feel that every penny spent on shipping is worth it. Approximately 25% of our sales are from our VERY important friends outside the United States, so we do everything we can to help with shipping costs. We have discovered several ways to save you money on shipping.
    1. Buy with a friend (or two or three). The cost of international shipping is much less expensive for larger shipments. This can bring your shipping cost down very fast. We had a large group of computer wizards from Iceland group together for a huge order and they saved an incredible amount on shipping. They are now putting together more large orders for more savings. We are now the number one golf company in Iceland!
    2. Bigger orders are better. For all international and other air shipments, because of the dimensions of the box, it costs the same to ship an 8 pound (3.6 kilo) box of golf clubs as it does to ship a 2 pound (1 kilo) box. So, if you order 5 individual clubs you are going to pay the same price in shipping as you would on a single club.
    3. Be aware of the rules in your local area. For example, in the United Kingdom, there are many crazy local handling and service charges if you ship to a residence. However, we understand that many of those go away if you ship to a business address in the U.K. that has a UPS account. We will be providing more information about each country as we become aware of what tricks our customers use to get their golf clubs most inexpensively.
    4. Email our customer service representatives with your questions or concerns and we will work very hard to help solve your specific shipping problem. We have made some very large differences for our wonderful international customers. This will be time well spent as you can use this knowledge in your internet purchases from other companies — so do not hesitate to contact us.
  • Other International Tid-Bits
    1. Golf bags are difficult to ship overseas. Golf bag boxes don't weigh much, but are very big, so they are expensive to ship by air. Since bags have to be shipped separately, we have to charge shipping for the bag ON TOP of the price you pay for the clubs. We are sorry that we have no control over this. One of our customer service representatives will email you with additional shipping costs to verify that you agree to the additional charges.
    2. Customers will be liable for any taxes and duty that apply to purchases when they come into their country (e.g., VAT, customs duty, etc.). Customers will be liable for any additional charges, service, agency, or brokerage fees associated with your deliveries that are charged by local agents in their respective country. These charges are at the discretion of each country and some countries have more charges than others. This is not in our control. Be familiar with your local customs. Contact your local UPS site. They should be able to give you an estimate on what you should expect to pay.

Shipping Chart

The shipping chart below is an approximation of what you should expect to pay for shipping. As you can see, more clubs translate to lower per club prices. You can get an exact quote before you checkout in our order process. Place an order online and make sure you include the items that you are interested in buying. Fill out step #3 of the order process, and continue on to the next page (Don't worry, you are still not obligated to buy at this point) and you will see the exact shipping amount.

Questions About Golf Club Shafts & Grips

What kind of Aldila graphite shafts do you use — Tour Grade — Value Series — Clubmaker Series?
We have been one of Aldila's major club manufacturing customers for many years. As is the case with most professional golf club manufacturers, the shaft we use is designed and manufactured specifically for us based on specifications we have provided Aldila. Our shaft has a "Low-Mid Flex" point and 5 degrees of torque. The raw shaft weighs in at about 78 grams. The shaft comes in the following flexes: Regular, Stiff, eXtra stiff, Ladies and Senior flexes.
Can I specify the shaft or grip I would like to have in my club?
For an additional charge we make several shaft as well as grip options available. For specific options and costs, please refer to the following pages:

Custom Shaft Upgrades for:

Custom Grip Upgrades for:

What if I would like a specific grip or shaft and it is not available on your "Upgrades" list?
We have two options
  1. Sorry, if it is not on our upgrade list we are not able to make the club.
  2. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but please be advised that several factors are going to come into play:
    1. Cost can and will vary wildly based on your request.
    2. We will not be able to adhere to our 48 to 72 hour shipping window. We will do our best to keep you up to date on delivery, however many times these orders can extend into weeks.
    3. Our 30 day money back warranty will not apply.
    4. As much as we want to please you and get you exactly what you want, we may just not be able to do some things - then Option 1 would apply!

Questions About Golf Club Heads

What's the difference between a "Stainless Steel" driver and a "Titanium" driver?
Titanium is lighter than stainless steel given a specific volume. What does this mean? The biggest we can make a stainless steel driver is about 260 cc (volume). To go bigger than that, we have to use Titanium. Currently we can take a Titanium driver up to 400 CCs in size. The next question is will a larger driver allow me to hit the ball further? The simple answer is no! A larger hitting surface will be more forgiving, however will not generally translate to longer drives.
