Gary Miller reviewed this product on 07/22/03 I received my new Acer XP about a week ago. When I took it to the driving range later that day I was not all that impressed. However, on my third trip to the range with it I started knocking the snot out of the ball. My average drive had a carry of more than 20 to 25 yards over my old driver. The extra roll made it even longer. It's large sweet spot also made it more forgiving. Compared to my old driver the XP is lighter, 2 inches longer, has a much bigger head, and requires you to tee it up higher. That takes a little getting used to but it was well worth the effort. It is an excellent driver at an excellent price.

Glenn W reviewed this product on 07/03/03 I've only hit one small bucket of balls and played one round with it so I am still getting used to it, but I am already very impressed. I've added 20-30 yards to my drive and am hitting the ball straighter more consistently. An awesome bargain for $99. I highly recommend.

Al;ex Ogden reviewed this product on 05/23/03 Hi, I just purchased this driver with the pinemeadow standard shaft and the shipping was great and all but i have been practicing with it for the past week and i keep hitting it off to the right..So i need to know if i should get it with the steel shaft instead?????Please respond to me at me e-mail or on the review..
Preston Hale responds with Alex, Your problem could stem from a number of factors. It can be difficult to judge what you need in terms of equipment, as we cannot see you swing to tell what you require for a shaft. I can give you some generalizations that may help you decide. The choice between graphite and steel is difficult to make, and can be key in the performance of your club. We are seeing a trend in the pro world (especially Tiger) that steel is becoming popular in woods. Why? Pros have good tempo, are younger, and steel gives them better control based on their ability. Graphite can be a great shaft to gain distance and feel for the older player who wants to gain back the tempo and power that they may have lost as they age (gracefully of course). Since steel is much heavier and more difficult for the older player to control, graphite is perfectly designed for them. Steel is better suited for the player who doesn’t need a lighter shaft to gain control. So which category are you in? Hope this was helpfull. Thank you, PinemeadowGolf.com
