Chris reviewed this product on 11/17/03 I am a low handicapper and have tried many different sets. These knock offs were definitely worth the price. I could never afford the real irons so I gave these a try. They are very easy to hit good shots with. I have noticed much improvement in my game since I have hit these clubs. Its a great buy.
Shawn reviewed this product on 11/12/03 I used to own a set of knock off Titelist irons that are about 15 years old (well, I also tried the XDS wide soles) before getting these. I've played with these XPs all summer and have not noticed any difference in my game. My 7 iron still goes about 150 yards. I ordered an extra half inch shaft which does make my swing more comfortable, though. Also, a nice hit feels better in my hands, smoother. I checked out the X-16s twice at the range and found that I hit those 10-15 yards longer than I hit the XPs, so something must be different. However, like I mentioned with the XDS's it isn't $500 difference. Definitely upgrade the grips! The standard grips are gummy and get very slippery. Overall, I'm happy with them because of they are more comfortable than my old set.
Preston Hale responds with I'm guessing the shaft in your XP Step Cavity irons are the standard Apollo steel which has a low/Mid flexpoint for high trajectory. You might consider upgrading to the Dynamic Gold shaft which has a higher flex point and you should get those 10-15 yards you mentioned. The grip has been very well received but as with anything it's personal preferance. Give us a call.
Len reviewed this product on 10/27/03 I have had a chance to use these irons a few times on the course now. They are really something. I am having to use 2 clubs shorter now than I was. I have the steel shaft irons and was using graphite shafts. The steel are much more accurate and I am now hitting longer. Accuracy has improved with each use, also. Thanks Pinemeadow for a wonderful product without the brand name price.
Len reviewed this product on 10/15/03 I just received these irons yesterday. Took them to the driving range to hit a few. I was not used to them, but I must say, they are the most accurate clubs I have hit. I am a fairly new golfer, and have trouble hitting straight shots. These clubs with the steel shafts seemed to have straightened out my shots. Now just to get the distance. I know a little more practice will do wonders. More later.
Sonny Asehan reviewed this product on 10/09/03 I'm a beginner. I took a couple of lessons and started playing golf just this past May using a set of a second hand Wilson clubs. I bought a set of Acer XP Step Cavity Irons, stainless steel woods and the titanium driver last June. I put off giving a review until I'm fairly comfortable with my fledgling game and my new set of clubs. After 10 rounds of golf I'm now consistently scoring between 109 to 111 (last four scores were 109, 111, 110 and 109). This is a dramatic improvement from what I was scoring then with the Wilson set, which was around 130s. These clubs are not only slick and good-looking; they are solid and consistent as well. With the confidence I get from these clubs, I believe breaking 100 in my next few rounds is highly achievable. Thank you so much, Pinemeadow!
