Robert C reviewed this product on 10/01/04 I recently purchased the 5-iron 5000 Power Play Select Utility Iron. I was amazed. The first time I hit this club, the ball sailed 190 yards. I had never hit an iron that long before. Especially on my very first time to hit the club. The quality is great and the customization of each club is great, since I am only 5'7". I let a friend hit it who shoots in the 80's ( I shoot low 100's) and he sailed it past the 200 yard marker his first time hitting the club. I will by the 3 and 4 irons as well. Thanks guys for improving my game and saving me money in the process. Who says golf has to be expensive?
A Renner reviewed this product on 09/22/04 I have been trying to do away with my long irons and had previously tried the Sychron II fairway woods, but I did not like the way they felt. I then decided to purchase the 4 and 5 iron Power Play utility heads and I assembled them with graphite shafts and they have been everything I had hoped they would. The feel at impact is much better than with the Sychron II’s and the higher face makes it easier to hit. I have also tried the Nike, Taylormade, and Hogan Hybrids and they are no better, and in my experience, the Taylormade and this club have been. I have much more confidence in these than I did with my irons. I would recommend these to anybody else who feels comfortable with a fairway wood but struggles with long irons. I also disagree with anyone who thinks this should only be used with an iron shaft. I would fit them with a shaft that is comparable to what you prefer for your fairway woods because the shaft lengths for these hybrids are more comparable to woods than irons.
S diddy reviewed this product on 08/31/04 uh. holy Shizznizzle! fizzle my wizzle! this club is hotter than ice! its colder than microwave chicken son! on a serious note, i am a crappy golfer, 20 handicap, and i just bought this club and absolutely ROCK the ball with it. 200+ yards and in the fairway everytime! i honestly cant believe how good it is. i am probably going to buy another one. i mostly hot it off the tees on this short course i play but even off the fairway is great. get this club biatches!
Frank Gutierrez reviewed this product on 08/16/04 I ordered the 3 and the 5 Utility irons with the True Temper Ttlite regular shaft and the Golf Pride Tour Velvet Grip. Playing only 1 1/2 months I anticipated having problems with the long irons and ordered these just in case and what a combination. With the 3 iron, the majority of the time off the Tee, I hit around 240 to 275 yards and straight and the 5 iron between 150 and 180 yards. These irons are great for those narrow fairways and especially on windy days. When you need make that great second shot shot, these Utility Irons are great to have.
Andrew McGuire reviewed this product on 08/16/04 I just bought the 3 Iron. Very nice. Looks much like the Taylor Made. Plays much like the Taylor Made, yes I've played both. I cant hit a real 3 iron but off the tee. I hit this about 10-15 yards farther than my 3 iron off the tee, but I can play this off the fairway or rough. I hit it a little better than my 5 wood, but it is great for punching out (& under) of trouble. I have previously had no threat from 180 yards (6 iron) out. I can hit this consistantly 205(fairway) 220(tee) and be on or near the green. Will soon be getting the 4 and 5 iron. They are just too easy to hit.
