T reviewed this product on 06/03/05 Just ordered my excell mid launch irons on monday late afternoon. I got the clubs that wednesday afternoon! Quick sevice for sure, if the irons perform as well as the service I will be one happy golfer. I hope the rain holds off this weekend so I can take these for a test drive. Thanks again for the great service and I will write again when i have a chance to demo the clubs
Ryan reviewed this product on 06/02/05 Hi James, I don't write these things. I just had to tell you that the Excel mid-launch set I got is AWESOME. I'm hitting my *3* Iron 200 yds, and perfectly straight. Over 3 rounds this year my scores have come down an average of 14 strokes. The feel to these clubs is great, and the balance makes them SO easy to hit. Money well spent. I really can't say enough about them. Thanks again for a great product for a great price.
Greg reviewed this product on 05/26/05 After searching for weeks and reading many reviews I stubbled across your web-site. What a great surprise. I'm a teacher and head golf coach in Kansas. I was needing to upgrade my irons, but cost was a consideration. Your irons seemed to good to be true, but I ordered them anyway. What a great surprise. Ordering was a snap, even with my customizations. Received them in a week and have been playing them for a week now. I will give my recommedation to not only my players needing new clubs, but the other coaches who I play with as well. Thanks Pinemeadows for you great clubs and prices.
Michael Johns reviewed this product on 05/23/05 I placed my order for the Excel irons + 3 additional wedges (1/2" longer than standard and all graphite shafts) on Sunday night, May 15th. I received an early morning email (7:45 PST) on the 16th that my order had been sent to manufacturing. I received another email on the 17th that my order had been shipped and a tracking number was provided. On Friday the 20th my clubs arrived (Atlanta, GA). On inspection I was very pleased with the obvious quality in workmanship. Saturday afternoon I managed to get to the driving range to try out the new irons. I saw an immediate improvement in my ball striking. While this can be attributed to simply having longer clubs (1" longer than my previous set) I also could not have gotten a new set of clubs (3-LW) with graphite shafts for anywhere near the price of this set. Bottom line...I will be back when I am ready to upgrade my driver and fairway woods.
Dave L. reviewed this product on 05/13/05 Kudos to PMG for the quick customization and shipping - it was just as advertised. Quality is quite good - not equal to the Calloways - but pretty close. Cosmetically the Excel logos look a little cheap up close - but fine from afar. The Excels aren't quite as forgiving as the Big Bertha irons (I've never hit X-16s) - but they do allow you shape shots - so that's the trade off. My only real beef is with the standard Pinemeadow grips. They have a slippery round pad right below your thumbs which didn't give me a very positive grip. Also, the grips, as installed, were much closer to mid-size than standard. SO - if you are looking for standard sized grips - choose a grip upgrade. I've replaced all my grips with Crossline Classics (at a cost of over $40). At a mere $2 per club upgrade it would have been money well spent. The standard Apollo steel shafts seem a little light but otherwise play pretty well. All in all - hard to beat for the money.
