Doublewall 400cc Driver
$199.95
Description
The Doublewall clubs feature a classic low-profile head design, borrowing its look from the very styles that made the game what it is today. The driver is a refined, technologically advanced, high performance titanium driver. It features a 400cc classic "pear" shape head design with a retro-classic groove pattern from the persimmon days.
How can a 400cc head be as forgiving and long as a 460cc? By adding a second wall 8mm behind the titanium face and condensing the volume, the head has better structural integrity and allows the entire face of the club to respond in a way that provides multiple hot spots. The traditional sweet-spot is no longer just in the middle of the face, we have created a the whole club face to feel and react like a driver hit right on the "screws". Here is more information regarding the testing of the Doublewall technology.
BioMechanica, an expert biomechanical engineering firm that provides counsel to the USGA and builds the golf club testing cannons that are standard in the golf industry, was hired to test the Doublewall technology. The test results are amazing. BioMechanica found that the hitting the Doublewall off-center (like most of us do) will only decrease your performance by 2.9%. That's 18% better than the nearest competing club for off-center hits!

Customer Reviews
Jeremy rated this product on 08/19/10 I was the very first guy to write a review for this club years ago. I'm getting close to becoming a scratch golfer, and I never thought I'd keep the same driver so long. It is pretty much the only pinemeadow club left in the bag, and, for good reason. I have no complaints with the club except that I think the stock shaft is too whippy. I switched shafts to a stiff Enzo Zone shaft (btw, I highly recommend Pinemeadow to hook up with the Enzo shaft company to start up a deal--they are willing to offer their shafts to smaller companies only). With the new shaft in, my accuracy has dramatically increased, and my drives have more of a tour trajectory on them. I weigh 130 pounds and drive the ball 270-280 on average. I'm not saying you'll drive like the pros with this driver, but you will find that it helps a whole lot. Lastly, a little tip: if you think you're losing yards with this driver, tee it up lower while keeping the ball position foward. I believe that the best place to hit the ball on the club is a bit lower than some of the other high-end golf clubs out on the market. Thanks again Pinemeadow!
Fawad rated this product on 07/01/10 Now for the real review, first took this baby to the range not only does it look good it plays fantastic. Today was my first course outing with my set (DW Driver and 3 wood, Command TI Irons & Hybrid and the Gazelle Putter and this is my third time ever on a course so im a total beginner. OK to start with the Driver its was just sweet ppl said the head is too small 400cc i should have gotten a 460 instead but not was i managing to hit them reasonable straight the distance i was getting was fantastic. On the range going through the buckets when i used to get it right bang 260+. On the course i was advised to use a half back swing as i have yet not perfected the full swing and with the half swing i was reaching the same distance 200-220 yards sometimes more than the gentlemen on my flight. The feel was great, sound was amazing all in all i would recommend this driver to everyone. The irons worked like a charm all of them easy to play with built just like i wanted them so perfect. With the putter nice weight feels great i definitely felt i was getting the ball where i wanted it to go once again full recommendation there.. So all in the Pinemeadow experience is excellent hell i don't even care about the blemishes i was talking about earlier i couldn't be more happier with my decision to go for pinemeadow.
Clark said the following about this product on 06/29/10 My order from PinemeadowGolf.com did, indeed arrive on time and in pristine condition. Because I was leaving on an extended business trip, I didn't have time to give my Double-Wall 10.5 degree driver a try. I finally had a chance this morning (June 28) as I resumed my weekly match with some fellow geezers like myself. When I arrived on the tee box, I still had the cellophane wrapper on the driver head to show you that I had not even practice-swung it. I told my group as I walked on the tee that "they were in the hands of the Philistines" for this match and stroked my drive right down the center of the fairway around 260 yards. After remarks of "lucky hit," "illegal club," and "where did you get that thing," we embarked on the round. Our course is par 72, the average age of our group is 74, my handicap is 10, and the oldest of our group, who is 82, consistently shoots his age. So you can see that this is no pansy group that I play with. Today, I outdrove them all by up to 30 yards and wound up with a score of 76. Bottom line, your club is very easy to manage. I had a little trouble calibrating it (tended to slice a little at first) but once I dialed it in, it worked marvelously. At some time in the future, I may be in touch with you to discuss a deal for your Double-wall 3 metal.
Fawad rated this product on 06/18/10 Hello everyone.. was very excited to receive my PineMeadow golf set just now. This review is just for the shipping as well as unboxing of my set. I bought the DW Driver and 3 wood. Command Q T Irons 5 thru pw along with the hybrids 3,4 and the gazelle putter. Shipping would receive an 8/10 for on time delivery i received my order in exactly a week(i live in bangkok) so i was happy with the delivery time. It was all well packed for a sec i couldn't believe everything was in that narrow box. Unboxing well 3/10 it was kind of dissappointing to see the finish of these was not good i was expecting a much higher quality but then i figured they are cheap so shudnt expect much. But my biggest disappointment was dw driver and wood there finishing considering the price was just sad it looked like a club made in a rush and not even cleaned while packed i have oil stains on most of my sticks. One of my hybrids is off color. anyway with all that said its even more disappointing to know that u live all the way in thailand and its probably gonna cost u quite a bit to send any of these things back. Anyway that was for the shipping and unboxing. The irons and putter were in alil bit of better condition.
IslandGuru rated this product on 06/16/10 I have had this club for some time. I have not written a review until now, for a couple of reasons. First, I got the old version with 8.5 degrees of loft (the only loft available at the time). It was a great deal, and even if the loft was not what I normally use, I thought it would be fun to try it out. At first it proved difficult to hit. However, I realized that it was a great practice club: I could tell right away what was wrong with my swing. So, I was happy with it. However, recently, I made a few swing changes (I may even have found a viable long term swing...who knows :-) ). Yesterday I took the double wall out for some practice, and to my surprise I was hitting it about as well as my regular 10.5 degree (Pinemeadow, btw) driver. In fact, I was finding it easier to hit, because I realized that all you really have to do is hit somewhere near the sweet spot and the club does the rest. I am starting to think seriously about playing with this. I should add, though, that while I have the 8.5 degree head, I have a regular shaft, which means I can still get air without too much problem. Finally, for those of you who do not swing very fast, you might seriously consider the smaller head drivers offered here. You will probably get more club head speed, and with the DW, at least, the size of the sweet spot (which I have heard is not really bigger on the 460s anyway) is almost not an issue--somewhat off center hits go!
