Pete rated this product on 06/09/10 I am a 14 handicaper who plays golf at least 3 times per week. I have been playing with forged titleist 804 clubs with steel shaft, regular flex. I wanted to try a newer technology club and decided on Ping G10 as the best choice for my game. I bought a single G10 (7-Iron) and used it for 1 month...then I bought the Pinemeadows ZR1 irons and used the 7 iron for 1 month to compare these similar clubs to each other and to my Titleist 804 7-Iron. After much play I found that the ZR1 club played much the same as the original Ping, but the ZR1 had a much softer feel. All of the clubs I used for testing were iron shaft and same flex. I finally bought a full set of the ZR1 irons set up for my specs (+1 inch longer than standard and 2 degrees upright lie.) I have now played 5 rounds with the ZR1 clubs and my scores averaged 81...including a sparkling 77. I can honestly say I prefer the ZR1 to the Ping G10...same length, same accuracy but much softer feel (likely due to the 431 stainless used in the ZR1 vs. the 17-4 stainless used in the Ping. If my memory serves me, I think that 17-4 stainless is a much harder alloy than 431 stainless which is about the same hardness as carbon steel. In addition, I think that the Pinemeadows staff is just excellent. Chris and Tommy were always willing to help me with information as I did my testing and the final shipment was made on time and delivered in excellent condition exactly as ordered. Three cheers for the Pinemeadows staff and for the excellent quality products that they design, manufacture and sell.

jerry rated this product on 05/25/10 Wow these irons are great! I felt like I had excellent service as I called before ordering and asked questions. You actually get to speak with a deal person and not a machine.LOL. I feel this was money well spent. I will be ordering driver soon. I received my order when it was promised. I finally hit my new zr1 irons yesterday and was simply amazed at distance and trajectory and not to mention on the Green!!. I am a high handicapped usually high 90s to low hundreds. First full round was a 90. Second was 99. I am never in 90s consistantly. My driver was dead on 1st round though.I had several chances to break into the 80s that first round but missed with putter. I really didn't know you could this caliber of club for the money. I am truly pleased with my order. I can't compare them to g10, but they hit better and more accurate than my ping eye 2 irons which I sold to make room for theses because I wanted a more forgiving club. Thank you Pine Meadows you have a repeat customer here as I am thoroughly impressed. They can keep the name brands and ill keep my money.lol

Roger reviewed this product on 04/30/10 Re: Pete Chiasson's comment about my post - Pete, I offer you this clarification of your admonishment of my suggestion regarding the price of upgraded grips. My suggestion was, and is, simply that, a suggestion. I did not request or want a price reduction for my order (you can verify that with Chris). I was making a suggestion regarding their policy for future purchases. In fact, I refused an offer for a price reduction (again, Chris can verify this). Your assertion that "Your analogy is a transparent push to get a price reduction" is totally false. I agree that Pinemeadows is a fine company and that it is a tribute to them that they willingly posted a suggestion that is opposed their policy, just as it would be a tribute to you to retract your conclusion of my intent based on assumptions - now that you know the facts. I will continue to order from Pinemeadow even though I disagree with their upgraded grip policy. By the way, my ZR1set is working just fine. I hope your choice does, too.

Pete Chiasson rated this product on 04/29/10 I have ordered numerous Pinemeadows products and worked with Pinemeadows people for more than 5 years and find their products and their customer support organization to be "best in class". I am currently testing a 7 Iron and U wedge from the ZR1 iron set and the help and expertise given to me by Tommy and Chris is execptional. I already play Command hybrids and love them. I will be ordering a full set of either the ZR1 or Mark II model irons as soon as I finish my playing tests. I would also like to comment on the review left by Roger below. Get a grip Roger...the price is the price. Your analogy is a transparent push to get a price reduction...My feeling is, if you don't like the price of the grip upgrade, then don't buy the upgrade. If you go outside the Pinemeadows organization you will both pay more and get less. Your review shouldn't even have been posted by Pinemeadows...it is a tribute to their honesty that they even put it up on their website.

Mark Coelho rated this product on 04/26/10 I purchased these clubs in December of 2009 and I am finally getting able to use them since the weather is getting better. I just got done playing in a weekend tournament and WOW!! These clubs feel great play great and when you think you hit the ball bad they are very forgiving. Not too mention the staff at Pinemeadow is Awesome. I have previously purchased my driver from Pinemeadow and i have chatted with the staff at least a half a dozen times and they by far are the nicest most helping staff in any business I have dealt with, not too mention very knowledgeable on thier products. I would recommend these clubs 100%. Keep up the awesome work Pinemeadow and thank You!!!
